Sat Village represents our personal answer to the question: How do we want to live as a family? In sharing our vision, we have discovered that many others are on a similar journey and considering moving and/or immigrating to Portugal. Here, you will find our vision for a new way of life. Sat Village is designed as a micro-neighborhood, offering a balance between spaciousness and community. Situated at the end of a quiet country road and surrounded by nature, it overlooks a natural forest reserve with a river down below.
Park your car at the entrance and access the village on foot or by bicycle. As you pass the communal building and shared outdoor area, you’ll find a central walkway that leads down into the village. The homes are centered around this pathway, encouraging a sense of community and neighborliness.
Each unit is fully equipped with a kitchen and bathroom, and features a spacious private garden ranging from 150 m2 to 400 m2. Green roofs covered with local grass and plants help the buildings blend into the natural environment. For outdoor activities and sports there is a public grass field conveniently located just outside the property.

Living in community means growing, sharing, and enjoying life together while also respecting each individual’s privacy, autonomy, and freedom. The strength of our community lies in the unique perspectives of its members, and we aspire to bring together people of all ages and backgrounds whether they are singles, families or couples .
Children bring light and laughter to life so we warmly welcome families to join us. Half the available units are well equipped for families and the other half are more suited for couples or singles. We believe that all can benefit from the guidance of older generations, while elders can find joy in the vibrancy of youth. Many examples exist of individuals at various stages of life supporting and connecting with one another. It is this type of interconnectedness that makes life in our community truly meaningful.
Living in community doesn’t mean we have to do everything together. We value our family time and believe that everyone should feel free to participate in communal activities as they choose. For practical matters, there will be a set of guidelines and community meetings held approximately once a month.
Living in community can mean different things to different people. We appreciate the idea of being surrounded by those who feel a connection to something greater and align with basic moral values such as honesty, respect, integrity, compassion, and all that other goodness.

At Sat Village, we embrace a lifestyle that connects us with nature, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and spacious gardens for cultivating our own organic fruits and vegetables. The Portuguese climate encourages us to spend more time outside, enjoying the sunshine, staying active, and fostering healthy habits for both mental and physical wellbeing. What a great place to raise our children and spend time with loved ones.
The village is far enough from the city’s hustle and bustle to live a peaceful life while still being close to essential daily amenities.

As a prospective homeowner, you have the opportunity to buy both your house and the land it occupies. You will also become a member of the owners association, which holds periodic meetings to address community matters. Each owner contributes a monthly fee for the upkeep of shared facilities. Your property is yours to enjoy while taking into account the community guidelines and Portuguese law.
Some owners may choose to stay in their homes year-round, while others enjoy seasonal stays or, invest in a unit for rental purposes. If you do decide to rent out your place, just reach out to the caretaker with your dates, and they’ll manage the details for you. - When applying for a mortgage, it is advisable to consult a mortgage broker, as the process differs somewhat from buying a home in an urban setting.
- You are part of a housing-complex with shared facilities and as a collective you are held to certain rules and regulations.
- Portuguese law permits you to reside in your vacation home year-round, and you can also receive mail at this address.
- You can not register the house as an official home address.
